The NomNomNom Hospitality Group had their first venture in Hamilton with the beloved Get Your Own Taters Food Truck. Still out and about on special events and food truck outings, the GYOT food truck specializes in topped tater tots – with toppings such as: Grilled Filipino Longanisa Sausage, Korean Bulgogi Beef, Chicken Shawarma with Pickled Turnips, Jerk Chicken with Pineapples and much more.

With these tater tot dishes becoming popular across Hamilton, the team expanded, adding on Tom’s BBQ in the Collective Arts Hamilton location, Gosia’s Kitchen (Filipino x Polish fusion) in the Toronto Collective Arts location, a full catering kitchen location, and even a ghost kitchen food truck! They truly are taking over the Hamilton food scene in the best way possible.
The most recent project on the scene, Mel’s Deli, opened this week (Wednesday February 12th) at Collective Arts Hamilton!
Mel’s Deli creates dishes inspired by Italian cafes, New York bodegas, and sandwiches from Quebec. Mel specifically spoke about her inspiration from flavours and combinations found on her travels in St Martin.

The menu at Mel’s Deli includes everything from: loaded hoagies, to breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and salads. Stand-outs on the menu include their Smashed Cucumber Salad, Italian Trio Hoagie on a Sesame Bun, Egg Salad Sandwich and their Open Faced Curry Chicken Sandwich.

Their Brisket, along with their Turkey is smoked in-house. Their sauces are all made from-scratch in house as well. All of the ingredients at Mel’s Deli are sourced from a 100km radius (except their kosher pickles – from Putter’s Pickles – which are made in Quebec). Gluten-free breads are expected to be available later this week and there are some vegetarian and vegan offerings.
If you visit, you can grab a beer, or perhaps a non-alcoholic cocktail while you’re there. Be sure to try their cookies, too!
